A few nights ago, we had this E. Carrel Sparkling Wine. Eugene and Paulette Carrel farm 23 acres in Savoie in the village of Jongieux, about 40 miles southwest of Geneva. The sparkling wine had a nice, acidic finish which went well with the aged Manchego cheese that we paired it with. The sparkling wine is made from 80% Chardonnay and 20% of local grape Jacquere in the traditional method. This sparkling sells for around $17.00 and has made my list of
